Egoza flat barriers are valued for their neat appearance and rigid structure. However, when installation regulations are violated, even the best panel can sag, blades can dull, and fasteners can tear out of the posts. Below is a list of the top 5 mistakes based on the results of 67 audits by the service department.
Mistake 1. Thin-walled posts
A wall thickness of less than 2.5 mm deforms under winds exceeding 20 m/s. Use a 60×60×3 mm profile or thicker.
Mistake 2. Absence of a reinforcement plate
The bolt compresses the tape, creating a dent → accelerated corrosion and tearing of the panel within 3-4 years.
Mistake 3. Incorrect panel overlap
An overlap of less than 100 mm leads to seam separation. The standard is 120-150 mm plus four bolts arranged in a square pattern.
Mistake 4. Direct welding to metal profiles
Welding destroys the zinc coating around the weld – leading to corrosion within 1-2 years. Welding should not be used.
Mistake 5. Ignoring thermal expansion gaps
At ΔT 80 °C, steel "grows" by up to 4 mm per meter. Always leave a 3 mm expansion gap between panels to prevent bolt shearing during temperature fluctuations.
